AWANA
Leader: Jennifer Creech

Why Awana? Because Kids Matter to God!!

Young people hold a special place in Jesus’ heart. He created them. He sacrificed His life for their sins. He longs for them to know, love and serve Him. He desires to spend eternity with them. His kingdom belongs to such as these.
That’s why kids matter so deeply to Awana. As a worldwide ministry, we believe that Jesus is the answer to every child’s needs, particularly for salvation. Awana programs and materials have been carefully crafted to help churches clearly and consistently communicate the good news of Christ and His plan for their lives, as expressed in His Word, each week of the Awana year.
Our church has the following Awana clubs:
·       Cubbies (pre-K – age 3 by Sept. 1st)
·       Sparkies (K-2nd grade)
·       Truth & Training (3rd-6th grade)

What makes Awana unique?
  1. Awana is centered on the gospel.
  2. Bible memory is a key element of our curriculum.
  3. We use a complete and systematic approach for training kids from preschool to high school to know, love and serve Christ.
  4. Our exclusive circle games generate maximum fun at Awana meetings.
  5. Training materials fully prepare a local church’s volunteer leadership.
  6. Children and youth are also trained to serve.
  7. Awana missionaries and their ministry teams provide hands-on training opportunities to the local church.
  8. We offer special events as outreach tools and service opportunities for young people and their families and friends.
  9. Awana programs and materials are designed to influence unsaved parents, too.
  10. Parents are trained to be their children’s primary spiritual caregivers through Awana Children’s Ministry Conferences, local training sessions and Rorheim Institute.
 FYI
Seventh Street Baptist Church is committed to children. We have many exciting things planned for the 2010-2011 Awana year including Theme Nights where the kids come dressed in an appropriately-themed outfit; Bring –A-Friend Night; Christmas Parade, Awana Grand Prix; and the Awana Awards Banquet.
►Our clubs meet on Sunday nights from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM

►Dues are 25¢ per club night

►Once the clubbers pass their entrance booklets, they can purchase a uniform. Uniforms should be worn every club night except when we have Theme Nights.

►We also recommend that clubbers wear appropriate shoes such as sneakers so that they can participate in Game Time.

►For Specific Club Rules and Discipline, please check out the AWANA bulletin board or contact your child’s club director.
